I'm throwing a sale!  It's my first one... and I don't have that many products in my store so don't get too excited, haha.  I'm participating in the Teachers Pay Teachers Cyber Monday and Tuesday sale.  All my products are 20% off, and TpT is tossing in some savings for a total of 28% off.  Click HERE to see my store.

My own TpT wish list is a mile long, mostly stocked with holiday activities.  Tis the season to get your shop on!

And on to even bigger blogger news... I've been nominated for a Liebster Award!  The Liebster Award is given by bloggers to up-and-coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.  It is to show new bloggers that they are appreciated and to help spread the word about new blogs.

I was nominated by Mrs. Thigpen's Kindergarten.  I found her site through Farley's "Currently" and have been following ever since.  She has wonderful ideas for her little kinders and I'm so appreciative that she thought of me for this award!  If you haven't already, hop on over and check her out!

The Liebster Rules:
- You must post 11 random things about yourself.
- Answer the questions that the nominator set for you.
- Create 11 questions for the people you nominate.
- Choose 11 blogs you love (with less than 200 followers) and link them in your post.
- No tag back (but please leave me a comment on this post with the URL to your Liebster post so I can learn more about you!)

Blogs I'm Nominating

There are so many fabulous blogs out there!  Some of these I have just begun to follow and I'm looking forward to reading all they have to offer the blogging world!  I hope you'll visit these blogs and consider following them, too.
Productiveness prevails during Thanksgiving break.  I finally had the time to finish my Morning Meeting Greeting and Activity Cards, woohoo!!!

I love Morning Meeting in my classroom.  It's such a positive way to start the day, and really builds a strong classroom community.  We begin by greeting one another around the circle.  This is a great time to teach about eye contact and respect for one another.  After our greeting, we move on to calendar and weather.  Our calendar activities include learning about our current date and showing the number of days we've been in school in different ways (using tallies, base-10 blocks, and money).  We close with a whole-class activity that combines learning and fun!

I use my Smart board each day for my Morning Meeting.  It is a great visual and very interactive, so it really keeps the kids engaged.  I have a slide with a spinner on it for my greeting and another for my activity for the day.  I often forget to change up my spinner, so the greetings/activities get stale pretty fast!

I wanted to make some cute cards (and laminate them of course!) so I could use those to change up my greetings and activities more often than when I used the spinner.  I plan to put them on a ring and keep them with the rest of my Morning Meeting goodies.  Hopefully this will eliminate the "Oh no, high five greeting AGAIN?!" whining that I often hear from my little angels!

Check them out in my TpT Store and download them if you like 'em!  I'll email a copy for free to the first two people that leave me some comment love.  Don't forget to include your email address!

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving and be sure to...

Notice anything different today? I have a fancy new blog design, woohoo! When I started blogging in July, I chose the best looking template in Blogger I could find.  Let's just say it left something to be desired...

Through my dedicated blog-stalking I stumbled upon Erin at Creating and Designing.  She has a great portfolio of custom blog designs and I signed right up to be on the waiting list.

The look is a lot more fun and fearless, don't ya think?  Feel free to "grab my button"...because I have one now... just sayin'.

Thanks Erin for making my blog beautified!
Okay, it's random post time...

There are bunch of little things I've been meaning to post but just haven't quite gotten around to it.  In an organizing frenzy one night, I made some binder covers.  I was inspired by some great ones I'd found from Rowdy in Room 300, but I needed slightly different titles for my binders.  I am loving how the polka dot / stripes combo came out.  I made binder covers for my Lesson Plans, Student Data, Literacy Assessments, CAFE, and AIMS Web.  Click HERE to grab your own copy.

Our district uses the McGraw-Hill Treasures reading series.  One of the graphic organizers I love from the series is the "Somebody-Wanted-But-So" chart.  It's so helpful when we discuss the story after we read.  I wanted a chart for my kiddos to complete that had some cute fonts on it.  I love the HOWSER font from Kevin and Amanda Fonts.  The best part is, all their fonts are FREE!  Check out the graphic organizer below and if you want a copy of your own, CLICK HERE.

Last, but not least, we had our first round of parent conferences last week.  I wanted my firsties to complete a quick (and easy!) writing piece that I could give to their parents to start the conference off on a positive note.  I had them write about their favorite thing to do in first grade.  Some of my kids really surprised me with what they like best in our classroom!  CLICK HERE to grab your own copy.

Alright, enough randomness for one evening.  I'm off to watch more election coverage... I hope you all Rocked the Vote today!!!

I'm linking up with Farley for November's Currently... cause everybody is doing it... and I want IN too!!

LISTENING - Anyone else watch Nashville?  Loving this new show already.  So much good country.  Makes me feel like I don't live in snowy CNY, haha!

LOVING - More sleep?  Enough said!

THINKING - Yep, that to-do list isn't happening today.  However, my DVR will be getting a lot of use!

I am WANTING a do-over weekend because I am NEEDING to feel better very soon.  I had a fantastic weekend planned visiting my sister, brother-in-law, and niece in Chicago.  But when I got there I felt awful and hit the Walgreens clinic... STREP has found me again.  I love teaching first grade, but in the past three years I have never had strep so much in all my life!  I spent most of my weekend quarantined on the couch, watching my 17-month old niece from afar.  I did NOT get enough snuggles this weekend!  I want a DO-OVER!!

MUSIC - My firsties love when we have time for Musical Math Boxes.  Math Boxes are part of the Everyday Math curriculum that consist of review questions.  I keep the game simple... we answer a few questions, I play some music, the kiddos move to a new spot.  I don't remove any chairs, no one is left out... everybody jams.  I am selfish and like to play Kidz Bop so I can sing and dance along.

Hoping to post some good stuff I've been working on soon... and keep your eyes out for a new blog design currently in progress!
