Can you tell I'm on a math kick right now?!

My firsties need more practice with subtraction facts.  I have addition games for days, but need to build up my subtraction game stash.

So I created a Subtraction BOOM game to add to my "Math with a Buddy" area during Math Workshop. It's a simple game in which a player chooses a card and solves the subtraction fact.  If they get the answer correct, they keep the card.  If they get it wrong, the card goes back in the pile.  If a BOOM! card is pulled, the player must put ALL their cards back!  The player with the most cards at the end is the winner.

There are 72 subtraction facts in the game, as well as BOOM! cards, Lose a Turn cards, and Take One More cards.

I've uploaded the game to my TPT Store and I'm offering it as a FLASH FREEBIE for the next hour.  If you download it, don't forget to leave me some love!

Have you checked out Fun in PreK-1?  Her blog is super cute and she shares some awesome ideas that you will love!  Jessica has reached 100 Followers.  Congrats, Jessica!

She is having a fantastic giveaway, and I am lucky to be a part of it!  You could win some great prizes, including my Word Word Activities.  So hop on over and check it out!

And now, calling all my bloggy buddies...

I am just a few followers short of 100 myself, woohoo!  So that means I definitely need to get going on putting together a 100 Follower Giveaway!!!  Want to help me out?!  Drop me a quick email and let me know if you'd like to donate a product to my upcoming giveaway.  I would be so grateful for your participation!
It's almost St. Patrick's Day, woohoo!

I LOVE St. Patrick's Day!  With a name like Colleen and my flaming red hair, it's clear that I am just a WEE bit Irish, right?!

My original goal was to create ten math and literacy centers for my St. Patrick's Day pack.  But, well, things happen and I just couldn't quite get it all done.  So I made a St. Patrick's Day mini-unit instead.  I can't wait to use it with my class, especially the Tricky True False math center.  We definitely need more practice with that Common Core skill!

Check it out in my TPT Store.  My Lucky Learning mini-unit will be on SALE until tomorrow evening!

It's that time again... linking up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade...

LISTENING - I love HGTV.  I don't have a house.  I'm not planning to buy a house any time soon.  But I LOVE watching home shows!

LOVING - My new couch.  It's a sectional and it's so comfy!  I know I'll get a lot of napping working done here!

THINKING - Dinner is a pain to make!  Anyone else agree?  First you've got to think about what you'd like... then you have to make it, and then you have to clean up!  It seems like too much work to me.

WANTING - More sleep.  I am STILL recovering from this tonsillectomy that I blogged about in February's Currently!  This is taking WAY too long to be done with, and I have lost A LOT of sleep in the past month.  I need more sleep!!!

NEEDING - I also began my St. Patrick's Day unit last month... and have not touched it since.  I need to get it finished... after I get some sleep.  The cover page is done at least, haha.

LIKE, LOVE, HATE - At first all I could think of were food words!  Probably because I'm contemplating dinner right now.  I like cookies, but doesn't everybody?  I hate cats.  I think they are sneaky.  I just don't trust them.  I'm more of a dog person.  A small dog person.  I love my new iPhone 5.  It is awesome!  And I ordered a custom monogrammed case from Etsy.  Fabulous.

Happy March!
